Our team

Carlota Ruiz-Bautista has 9 years of experience in the practice of law, 8 of which have been dedicated to the field of environmental law and policy at national and EU level. She has extensive experience in the development and implementation of projects in the areas of energy transition, climate change, fisheries, agriculture, climate governance and air quality, where she has worked with public administrations, companies, interest groups and civil society organisations. She also has experience in the defence and legal direction of environmental legal proceedings and in advising on the development and implementation of regulatory instruments and environmental and energy plans and policies at EU, national and regional levels, having also collaborated with international organisations to improve the implementation of environmental regulations in other countries outside the EU. She has worked as a consultant on projects for the European Commission related to the transposition of EU environmental legislation as well as for the Green European Foundation.

Carlota holds a double degree in Law and Political Science from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and specialised in Environmental Law at the Escuela de Práctica Jurídica of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She speaks Spanish, English, Italian and has knowledge of French.
